A 17-year-old girl has died at Kendal Calling festival after suffering a medical episode. Emergency services were called to the festival site at 2.13am on August 2, 2026.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, including the administration of CPR, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police appeal for information
Cumbria Constabulary has issued an appeal for information. In a statement, the force said: "Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of the ‘Calling Out’ tent and the ‘Big Wheel’ within the Kendal Calling site at around 2:00am (2 August 2026) or anyone who has any information that may assist officers with their enquiries."
Officers are particularly keen to speak with a group of women who alerted first responders to the girl after becoming concerned for her welfare.
