Emergency services were called to an apartment on Bold Street at 7:45am on Sunday, May 31, following reports of a concern for an 18-year-old man who had collapsed. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson confirmed that the North West Ambulance Service alerted them to the incident. The young man's next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. Police vehicles, including a scientific support van, were seen on Bold Street as officers conducted their investigation.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating following reports a male had collapsed inside an apartment on Bold Street in Liverpool city centre. We were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at 7:45am today, Sunday 31 May, following concern for an 18 year-old. The male was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
