A Sydney woman stands accused of murder after a terrifying dog attack in the affluent suburb of Cremorne left another woman dead and the community in shock.

Erin Patterson, 43, appeared before Parramatta Bail Court via video link on Wednesday, facing multiple serious charges including murder and animal cruelty following the fatal incident that has rocked the North Shore neighbourhood.

The Tragic Incident

Emergency services were called to a home on Bannerman Street around 3:15pm on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a vicious dog attack. Upon arrival, paramedics discovered a 46-year-old woman with severe injuries to her upper body.

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the woman tragically died at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been formally released, pending family notifications.

Multiple Charges Laid

Patterson faces a string of serious charges including:

  • Being an owner of a dog that causes death

  • Ownership of a restricted dog

The court heard that Patterson's own dog, believed to be an American Staffordshire Terrier, was destroyed at the scene by attending officers.
