Assistant Commissioner Louisa Rolfe provided an update, stating, "We believe the suspect went on a rampage after crashing a vehicle into a house in the Thurlow Gardens area. This is a truly terrifying incident for the whole community."

Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos and panic. One resident recounted hearing "screaming and then seeing a man with a huge sword", while another saw the police responding with immense bravery to contain the threat.

The area remains cordoned off as a massive forensics and police presence continues their investigation. Police have confirmed that this is not being treated as a terrorism-related incident and that they are not looking for any other suspects.
