Suspicious fire ravages derelict Dundee building

A fire that destroyed a derelict four-storey building in Dundee city centre is being treated as suspicious, with an investigation now underway.

The alarm was raised shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, October 21, when officers were alerted to a blaze on Princes Street. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene.

Emergency Response

Footage from the scene shows a major emergency response, with firefighters in full safety gear, including hard hats and oxygen tanks, battling the flames with various equipment. Thick grey smoke billowed from the building, which is covered in scaffolding, into the evening air.

Several police vehicles and fire engines were parked on the otherwise busy street, and a cordon was erected. Passers-by and motorists slowed down to observe the incident.

Investigation Launched
