Staff Evacuated from Fazakerley Shop After Fire

Staff were evacuated from a shop in Fazakerley after a fire broke out this afternoon. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a blaze on Lower Lane at 12:27 PM, and three fire engines arrived at the scene within minutes.

Fire Details

Crews discovered that rubbish was burning at the back of a bathroom outlet, causing a large amount of smoke to fill the building. Staff members were evacuated, and two individuals were treated by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service for minor smoke inhalation.

Response and Aftermath

Firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The incident has since been scaled down to one fire engine, which remains on site to hotspot and dampen down the area. Crews are expected to leave soon.
