Murder Investigation Launched After Woman Found Dead at Lincolnshire Care Home

Police have launched a murder investigation after an 88-year-old woman was found dead at Sleaford Manor Care Home in Lincolnshire. Officers were called to the home at around 2am on Sunday, March 22, following reports of the woman's death.

Two pensioners, a 74-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of murder but have since been released from custody. A post-mortem examination led detectives to treat the death as suspicious, prompting the murder probe.

Detective Inspector Mel Rooke of Lincolnshire Police's major crime unit said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim this evening. Our specially trained officers will be providing support to her family as our inquiry continues." He added that there is no wider risk to the public.
