Sam Walker, a British content creator from Liverpool, has been detained in the Czech Republic, according to reports. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed it is providing support to the British national.
Livestream Leads to Arrest
On Friday, July 10, Walker was livestreaming on his TikTok account outside what appeared to be Prague train station. In clips widely shared on social media, a police officer is seen putting Walker in handcuffs and allegedly telling him he needs to be “extradited to Germany”.
A spokesperson for the FCDO stated: “We are supporting a British national arrested in Czechia and are in touch with the local authorities.” The ECHO has approached German police for comment.
Walker's Criminal History and Recent Detentions
Walker has been convicted of more than 100 offences, including violence and drug supply, and has spent significant time in prison. In recent years, he has gained prominence as a content creator. In April, the ECHO reported that Walker had been detained in Vietnam, with the FCDO confirming support. Walker later posted that he had been “set free in Vietnam”.
In January this year, Walker appeared in Liverpool Crown Court, where a charge of sending a communication threatening serious harm was dropped. He had missed a previous court appearance due to being “stabbed and shot”, claiming to have been in A&E.
Previous Arrest in Sierra Leone
In 2024, Walker was allegedly arrested in Sierra Leone after travelling there in March, claiming to have absconded from the UK while on bail. His journey reportedly included chartering a private plane and using a speed boat to cross the Mediterranean to avoid border checks after his passport was seized.
Walker claimed he went to Sierra Leone to help children in poverty. In a 2024 post, he said: “I'm going to the slums to get these kids their operations so they can see their families again.” However, his friend Samuel contacted the ECHO, saying: “He's out in Sierra Leone and was doing a peaceful protest in the street. Then the police arrested him and put him in jail. That was four days ago. I'm really worried about him.”
In a video shared at the time, Walker stated: “I will happily do prison. I don't give a s**t. You can put me in the most violent, filthy, unpredictable jail in the continent of Africa, and I promise you I will come out with my head held high.” The FCDO confirmed it supported a British man in Sierra Leone and was in contact with local authorities.
