Crow Lane East in Newton-le-Willows is closed in both directions this evening following a collision that left two people injured. The road was shut by police after a white Peugeot van and a red MG car crashed at the junction with Cross Lane at around 5.55pm on August 4.
Two taken to hospital with minor injuries
The van driver, a man in his 30s, and the MG driver, a woman in her 50s, both sustained minor injuries. Emergency services are at the scene, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information following a collision in Newton-le-Willows this evening. Just before 5.55pm, we received a report of a collision involving a white Peugeot van and a red MG car on Crow Lane East, at its junction with Cross Lane."
Traffic disruption and appeal for witnesses
Online traffic monitor INRIX reports slow-moving traffic on Crow Lane West between Crow House Farm Drive and Back Cross Lane. Cross Lane and Belvedere Road are also closed following the crash.
