Footage has captured the moment police tasered an 'out of control' dog that had been fighting in Hull city centre. A man has been arrested after two dogs reportedly turned on each other outside Hull Paragon Interchange at around 2pm on Sunday.
Footage shows dog dragging man to floor
Camera footage captures the moment a dog drags a man with its jaws to the floor of the busy station. Police said they managed to get both dogs restrained before one burst out 'aggressively'. A man, believed to be the owner, walks away with his head in his hands as police corner the dog at the station.
One officer can be seen discharging his Taser on the dog, which flips over sticking its legs straight in the air.
Man arrested and released on bail
A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control. He has since been released on police bail.
Both dogs are alive and are being kept in separate kennels after being seized by British Transport Police (BTP).
BTP statement on the incident
A BTP spokesperson told Metro: 'Officers at Hull Paragon Interchange responded to two out of control dogs attacking each other at 1.51pm on 4 October.'
'Both dogs were initially secured by officers, however one aggressively broke free of restraints and posed a danger to nearby members of the public. It was tasered as a last resort to bring it under control.'
'Both dogs were seized and remain in secure kennels. Enquiries are ongoing to establish if they're banned breeds.'
