Police investigating a dog attack on a Northumberland beach have released an image of a van they want to trace. The incident occurred on Cocklawburn Beach in Berwick last month, where a German Shepherd crossbreed was reportedly injured by three other dogs.
Incident Details
The owner reported that three other dogs, believed to be Bull-type breeds, caused injuries to his pet at around 11am on Sunday, May 3. The dogs and their owner then left the area in a vehicle. The injured dog sustained a serious neck wound requiring emergency treatment.
Police Investigation
Northumbria Police say their Dog Section has been conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances. Officers are also looking to determine whether any criminal offences have been committed. They are now seeking to trace a van and its owner.
The force has released an image of an older style white Ford Transit van with large roof bars, believed to have been parked in the area at the time of the attack.
