Authorities in Kennesaw, Georgia, are seeking the public's help to identify a driver captured on video unleashing a furious road-rage attack on another motorist. The incident, which occurred on May 7, shows a bearded man exiting a gray Ford Edge at a busy intersection and repeatedly striking the driver's door of a truck while shouting.
Road Rage at Busy Intersection
According to the Kennesaw Police Department, the confrontation began around 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of North Main Street and Jiles Road. Both vehicles were traveling north on Main Street at the posted 25 mph speed limit when a dispute over speed escalated. Officer David Buchanan stated that the suspect, driving behind the victim's truck, grew increasingly aggressive, honking repeatedly and making hand gestures as traffic moved. The impatient driver eventually passed the victim's vehicle, but the encounter continued.
Confrontation at Red Light
When both vehicles stopped at a red light, the suspect, driving a Ford with no license plate, exited his SUV and walked back to the truck he had just overtaken. Video footage shows him approaching the driver's side door, shouting, and then striking the door with his hands. Authorities confirm the victim's vehicle sustained damage during the assault.
The suspect is described as a bearded man wearing a blue Under Armour shirt, dark sweatpants with white side stripes, running shoes, and a black Detroit Tigers baseball cap. The incident unfolded directly in front of The Local Doe coffee shop, where owner Breanna Irwin expressed shock. "I think it's terrifying that someone could get that raged up, that worked up, and get out of his car," Irwin told Fox 5.
Kennesaw Police have released the video and are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect to come forward with information.
