The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) posted on social media platform X this evening, confirming that officers were on the scene after receiving a report of an active shooter at the Islamic Center of San Diego, located in the Clairemont Mesa neighbourhood.
Authorities have asked locals to avoid the area during the incident, which began at approximately 11:40 a.m. local time (7:40 p.m. UK time).
