Sussex Police believe they have identified three women who died in the sea off Brighton on Wednesday morning, adding that investigators have “a number of hypotheses” about how they died.
Emergency Response
Emergency services were called to the beach after concerns were raised for one person in the water’s welfare at around 5:45 am. The individuals were first spotted at Brighton Palace Pier before drifting to the marina. Three bodies were later recovered from the sea nearby.
Investigation Update
Police in Brighton have carried out extensive enquiries and “believe we have now identified all three women,” a statement read. Their next of kin have all been informed, and formal identification procedures are currently underway.
