Detectives investigating the killing of an army veteran have launched an appeal for any locals who saw two men acting suspiciously on the day he was killed.
Graham, 64, was out walking his dog near to the woods at Perham Down, Wiltshire on September 24 and failed to return home. An inquest at Salisbury was told the dog returned home alone, prompting his wife to launch a search with police. He was found dead in a part of the 'popular' woods near to the polo field at Perham Down later that day. It was only after a post-mortem that it was realised he could have been killed.
Tribute from wife
His wife Jacky paid tribute to her husband calling him a 'kind and generous' man earlier this month. She added: 'He was a pillar of strength, trusted by all and always on hand to help family and friends whenever needed.'
Now police are appealing for anyone who was in the area near to the polo field, or the woods, at Perham Down between 9am and 6pm on the 24th September and saw two men acting in a suspicious manner to get in touch.
Police appeal for witnesses
DCI Phil Walker said: 'We are now four weeks on from Graham's murder but our commitment to establishing exactly what happened to him and who is responsible remains absolute and our investigation continues.
'I am really keen to hear from anyone who witnessed two males that looked out of place, or were acting suspiciously, in the woods on the morning of the 24th September, especially between 10am and 11am.
'Did you see someone who looked out of place or was acting suspiciously? Have you seen this person, or these people, before? Do you know their name?
'Did you see any vehicles that were driving erratically or appeared in an unusual place?
'I am grateful for the engagement and support from the community but I believe there are people who were in, or close to, Perham Down that have not yet come forward and I would urge you to engage with our investigation.
'We know the area is a popular place to walk your dog, ride your bike or undertake other forms of exercise and the 24th September was no different. If you were there that day, and haven't yet done so, please contact us as you may hold vital information. If you know who is responsible, you can help us seek justice for Graham's murder.'
