Police have released a photo of a man they want to trace after a couple were allegedly caught having sex in a Ferris wheel pod at Download Festival. Leicestershire Police are investigating reports that two rock fans were 'acting inappropriately' inside a glass pod on the fairground ride shortly before Guns N' Roses took to the stage.
Woman interviewed, man sought
Officers said a woman has already been tracked down and voluntarily interviewed regarding the incident. The man in the photo is wanted in connection with the frisky scenes at Donington Park, home of the annual rock and metal festival which attracts 80,000 revellers each summer.
Witness describes brazen act
A witness told The Sun: "Originally for the first rotation of the wheel people thought he was just standing behind her with his arms around her, looking at the view. But, as it got lower, somebody shouted 'I can see her pants pulled aside.'"
The onlooker added: "I have never seen anything like this. They were literally in a glass pod above everyone's heads at the busiest point of the night, just before Guns N' Roses were due on. It sort of brought everyone together in a weird way, before they were spotted the atmosphere was nervous apprehension because they're always late on."
"As soon as the cameras came out and word started getting around about what happened the atmosphere completely changed – they made the night. All I can think is they thought the glass was tinted, but it wasn't at all, it was actually spotless, you could see everything."
Adding a final thought, they said: "I just hope they cleaned the cabin after they got out of it."
Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact police immediately.
