A Greater Manchester Police officer was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment after a police van was involved in a collision with a car in Middleton. The incident occurred on Townley Street at 1:10pm on Friday, July 3. According to GMP, the officer's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
Second Police Van Crash on Same Day
This was one of two police vans involved in crashes on Greater Manchester's roads that Friday. A British Transport Police van crashed with a blue Kia Picanto on Rochdale Road in Harpurhey at around 8:45pm. Officers were transporting a 28-year-old man to police custody at the time. No serious injuries were reported in that incident.
