Police Scotland have launched a murder investigation after a 44-year-old man was found dead in the close of a block of flats in Glasgow.
Emergency Response
Emergency crews rushed to Burgher Street in the Parkhead area of the city on the afternoon of Friday, July 24. An alarm was raised around 3pm after police received a report of a man having been found with serious injuries. Upon attendance, Paul McMinigal was pronounced dead at the scene. The force confirmed that the family were made aware.
Police Appeal
Detective Chief Inspector Stephen McGrath, senior investigating officer from the Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Paul McMinigal who died at what is an extremely difficult time for them. They continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. I would ask that anyone in the local area think back to whether they saw anything suspicious on Friday afternoon in the area of Burgher Street or Parkhead Cross, or anything in the days leading up to it.”

“We are also asking the public to check any private CCTV or dash-cam footage they may have to see if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation. We understand that this incident will be concerning for the local community and a police presence will remain in the area while the investigation continues.
