A mother has been arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, after being caught driving at 120 miles per hour with her three-year-old child in the vehicle. Police officers detected the smell of alcohol and marijuana emanating from the car during the traffic stop.
Details of the Incident
The woman told law enforcement that she was speeding to return home to her 10-year-old child, whom she had left unattended while she went to pick up food. Upon searching the vehicle, investigators discovered several empty liquor bottles and a marijuana joint.
Charges Filed
She was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and violating Florida’s Super Speeder law. The incident highlights the dangers of impaired driving and child endangerment.
The child was safely removed from the scene and placed in the care of child protective services. The mother is currently held at the Duval County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
