Omaima Nelson, a 23-year-old Egyptian-born model, murdered her husband Bill Nelson, 56, less than a month after marrying him in 1991. She dismembered his body, cooked parts, and allegedly ate his ribs with barbecue sauce.
According to her testimony, Bill had tied her to the bed as part of a BDSM game, causing her to panic due to past trauma from female genital mutilation. She struck him with a lamp, stabbed him with scissors, and beat him with an iron before restraining and killing him.
Over the next 12 hours, she entered a 'trance-like state' and dismembered his body, boiling his head and hands to destroy fingerprints. She also castrated him, reportedly as revenge. His remains were disposed of via a waste disposal unit and bin bags.
Police found strips of flesh in a soup pot, his hands in a deep-fat fryer, and his head in a cooler. Only 150lbs of his 230lb body were recovered. Omaima admitted to cooking his ribs with barbecue sauce to her psychiatrist but later denied it.
She was arrested on 2 December 1991 driving his red Corvette with bin bags of organs. She has been denied parole twice due to violent behaviour in prison, including assaulting a guard. The parole board deemed her 'unpredictable and a serious threat to public safety.'
