Missing Man John Hunter Spotted on CCTV After Nine Days

Police Scotland has released a new CCTV image of John Hunter, a 51-year-old man who has been missing for nine days, and is urging the public to check their sheds and outbuildings for any signs of him.

Disappearance and Last Known Movements

John Hunter was last seen around 10pm on Friday, July 3, in the Fastnet Street area of Cranhill, Glasgow. He was then captured on CCTV walking south towards Bellrock Street approximately 30 minutes later. Despite extensive searches, he has not been heard from since.

Public Appeal and Police Concerns

Inspector David MacLean of Police Scotland expressed deep concern for John's welfare, stating: "We are really concerned about John’s welfare as it’s completely out of character for him to be out of contact with his family and friends for so long." He added: "We are asking for people local to the Cranhill and Craigend areas to please keep an eye out for him and report any potential sightings."

Description and Urgent Request

John is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and a tattoo on his left arm. He usually wears glasses and is believed to be dressed in a grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey hooded top, and black trainers. Police have also requested residents to check their outbuildings and sheds for anything that could assist with the investigation.

Inspector MacLean further urged: "I would also request the community check any outbuildings and sheds for anything that could assist with our enquiries. We would also urge John, if he sees this appeal, or anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please get in touch as soon as possible."
