Manhunt for Escaped Drugs Kingpin in Warrington

Police have launched a major manhunt and are appealing for information in Warrington after a convicted drugs kingpin absconded from a prison.

Daniel Buckley was last spotted at HMP Thorn Cross in Appleton on Saturday morning. Cheshire Police said officers are currently conducting a number of enquiries in a bid to locate the 37-year-old, and are appealing for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

He is described as 5' 10" tall, of a medium build, with dark hair and was wearing a grey t-shirt, grey jacket, black joggers, grey Nike trainers and was carrying a white shopping bag.

Buckley is known to have connections to the Manchester area, particularly Failsworth and Openshaw. In January 2024, Buckley was handed a 16-year and four-month sentence after playing a leading role in an organised crime group.

Buckley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine, conspiracy to supply amphetamine, entering into or becoming concerned in a money laundering arrangement and possessing amphetamine with intent to supply.

Detectives are currently pursuing a number of lines of enquiry in a bid to track down Buckley, and are urging anybody with information about his whereabouts to get in touch, reports the Liverpool Echo.
