A manhunt has been launched following reports of a shooting in the village of Laleston, Bridgend, in south Wales. Police responded to the incident shortly before 8pm on Monday evening, with one man sustaining minor injuries.
Arrest made in connection with shooting
A 29-year-old woman from Bridgend has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an air weapon with intent to endanger life. She remains in police custody.
Residents reported a significant police presence across several areas of Bridgend, with a cordon set up at Laleston Cemetery. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter was also seen circling above the town.
Police statement and ongoing investigation
A South Wales Police spokesperson confirmed: "South Wales Police was called at 7.55pm on Tuesday, August 4, to reports of a shooting at an address in Laleston, Bridgend."
"A 29-year-old woman from Bridgend has been arrested on suspicion of affray and being in possession of an air weapon with intent to endanger life and remains in police custody."
"A man suffered minor injuries because of the incident, investigations into the incident are ongoing."
The search for a second suspect is understood to be ongoing.
