Levy was subsequently charged with murder and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday 3 January. The court remanded him in custody.
He is scheduled to make his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Monday 5 January.
Police Investigation and Community Impact
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, extended his condolences to the victim's family. "Our thoughts are with Kaleem's family at this very difficult time," he stated.
He also sought to reassure the local community, confirming that the investigation team is not currently seeking any additional suspects in connection with the incident.
"We understand the concern this will have caused the local community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days," DCI Clarke added.
The family of Mr Shaik, who reside in India, have been informed of his death and are receiving support from specialist police officers.
