Laura Loomer Accuses Tucker Carlson of Creating 'GOP Hitler Youth'
Loomer: Carlson turning GOP into 'modern day Hitler Youth'

Far-right activist and self-described "proud Islamophobe" Laura Loomer has launched a fresh, incendiary broadside against former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, accusing him of attempting to transform the Republican Party into a "modern day Hitler Youth." The outburst, posted on social media this week, marks a significant escalation in their long-running feud and highlights deepening fractures within the MAGA movement.

The Flashpoint: Gaetz Interview Fuels Fury

The immediate catalyst for Loomer's tirade was Carlson's recent podcast episode featuring Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. During their conversation, Gaetz, who now hosts for One America News, made controversial claims about Israeli involvement in an alleged plot to extort him and his family. A former Israeli consulate contractor has denied these allegations.

Gaetz also told Carlson that, in his view, the definition of antisemitism had shifted. "Antisemitism used to mean somebody who didn't like Jews – now it just means somebody Jews don't like," he stated. For Loomer, who is Jewish and a vocal Zionist, this interview, following Carlson's previous controversial sit-down with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, was the final straw.

"I told you this is what Tucker was doing," Loomer tweeted. "He's trying to have a hostile takeover of the GOP to destroy MAGA & redefine the GOP into modern day Hitler youth with a drizzle of Sharia Law on top." She concluded by asserting that Carlson is not "America First" but "Tucker First at the expense of our country."

Widening Rifts and Personal Attacks

Loomer, who styles herself as Donald Trump's "loyalty enforcer," did not stop at Carlson. She also targeted prominent conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec after he unfollowed her on X in the wake of her comments. Her criticism referenced the recent Turning Point USA AmericaFest conference, where public divisions over antisemitism and conspiracy theories within the conservative movement came to the fore.

In a series of posts, Loomer expressed dismay at the direction of the right. "We can't keep gaslighting everyone into believing that Charlie Kirk wanted his organization to become a place for promoters of Nazism and Islam to gather," she fumed. She questioned when the GOP lost its standards, asking, "Remember when the GOP had standards and wasn't a place for Hardcore Nazis and Hamas lovers?"

On Tuesday morning, she continued her warnings, suggesting that Democrats might have been correct in labelling some figures on the right as Nazis and stating it was "undeniable" that a Neo-Nazi problem exists within the movement. She predicted significant election losses for the GOP in 2026 and 2028 if the issue is not addressed.

A Year-Long Campaign and Carlson's Retort

This incident is the latest in a year-long campaign by Loomer to undermine Carlson's influence with Trump and the MAGA base. Earlier this year, after Carlson criticised American support for Israel during its conflict with Iran, Loomer alleged he was being bankrolled by Qatar and was "controlled by Muslims." Carlson's business partner publicly denied this claim.

Carlson has previously dismissed Loomer's attacks with condescension. He has likened her to a "child wielding a loaded firearm called Twitter," adding that he blames not her, but "the adults who take her seriously." This ongoing public spat underscores the intense ideological and personal battles currently shaping the future of the American right, with figures like Loomer positioning themselves as defenders of a purer form of Trumpism against what they see as corrosive new influences.
