Shane Porter, 35, of Calcutt Park in Calcutt, has been charged with murder and possession of a shotgun without a certificate following the death of Jimmy Ward. The charge comes after Wiltshire Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at a Traveller site in Calcutt, near Cricklade, at around 8.15am on Sunday, August 2.
Victim named as 36-year-old father
The victim has been formally named as 36-year-old father Jimmy Ward, who suffered a fatal gunshot wound at the scene. A murder investigation was subsequently launched by the Major Crime Investigation Team.
Porter has been remanded in custody and is due to appear via video link at magistrates' court on Thursday morning, August 6.
Two others charged
Eddie Porter, 74, and Tammy Brown, 42, both of Luton, have been charged with assisting an offender and possession of a shotgun without a certificate. They have also been remanded in custody and are due to appear via video link at court tomorrow.
Two other men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, from Wiltshire Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "My thoughts continue to be with Jimmy’s next of kin at this difficult time."
He added: "A scene and increased policing presence will remain at the site in the coming days while further activity is carried out. I’d like to express again my thanks to the local community for their patience and support since Sunday. I appreciate the significant concern this incident has generated, so please consider speaking with officers about any information or concerns you may have."
