In a startling breach of security, a man was apprehended by Metropolitan Police officers after he was witnessed scaling the roof of a busy London courthouse. The dramatic incident unfolded at Willesden Magistrates' Court in North West London, causing significant disruption and raising serious questions about the security of public buildings.
Emergency services, including multiple police units and the London Fire Brigade, rushed to the scene on Wednesday afternoon. The area surrounding the courthouse on the High Road in Willesden was swiftly cordoned off as authorities worked to bring the situation under control.
Dramatic Standoff and Arrest
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the individual navigating the pitched roof of the court building for approximately an hour before specialist officers successfully brought him down to safety. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the man was arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance.
A spokesperson for the Met stated: "Police were called at 13:38hrs on Wednesday, 6 March to reports of a man on the roof of a building in High Road, NW10. Officers attended. The man was brought to safety and was arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance. He remains in custody."
