A 37-year-old man has been found dead on a Citylink bus in Portree on the Isle of Skye. Police attended the scene after receiving a report of an unresponsive man on the vehicle at 8.50pm on Monday, October 5. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family have been made aware.

Police investigate unexplained death

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, although police have indicated there appear to be no suspicious circumstances. A Police Scotland spokesperson told Radio Skye: “Around 8.50pm on Monday, 5 October, we received a report of an unresponsive man on a bus in Portree. Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead. His family is aware.”

Citylink confirms assistance with investigation

Citylink has confirmed that it is assisting police with an ongoing investigation. A spokesperson for the coach firm said: “We can confirm that a passenger was found unresponsive on board one of our services on Monday evening and sadly passed away. We are deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the passenger’s family and loved ones at this very difficult time.”
