Gardai in Dublin have launched a major public appeal following a violent assault that has left a man in his 40s in a critical condition in hospital.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning on Talbot Street, a bustling thoroughfare in the heart of the capital's north inner city.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at approximately 1:15 am, where they discovered the victim with serious injuries. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
Appeal for Witnesses and Information
Investigating Gardaí are now urgently trying to piece together the events that led to the attack. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Talbot Street between 12:45 am and 1:30 am.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to come forward," a Garda spokesperson stated. They are also seeking any individuals with video footage, including dashcam or mobile phone recordings, from the area at that time.
