A man in his 30s is in a critical condition following a serious assault in Dublin city centre late on Monday night. Gardaí have launched an investigation and arrested a suspect.
The incident occurred on Foley Street, Dublin 1, at approximately 11:40pm on Monday, July 6. Emergency services rushed the victim to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital at 2am on Tuesday morning.
A man, also aged in his 30s, has been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin. Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, from the vicinity of Foley Street, Talbot Street, and James Joyce Street between 11:30pm on Monday and 2am on Tuesday.
