Part of the M60 has been closed amid an ongoing police incident. The motorway is shut in both directions between junctions 17 at Prestwich and 18 at Simister Island this morning (October 15).
Emergency services at the scene
National Highways says Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the scene. The A665 Bury Old Road is also closed in connection with the same incident, between Walker Avenue and North Circle, in Whitefield.
Traffic delays and queues
There are delays of more than 30 minutes approaching the scene according to National Highways, with queues stretching back for three miles. Further details on the incident are yet to be confirmed.
