A shocking case of road rage on the M25 spiralled into a terrifying ordeal for a family, after a furious driver threatened to throw their child from the moving vehicle. The incident, which has left police appalled, occurred on one of Britain's busiest motorways, highlighting the extreme dangers of aggressive driving.
The confrontation began on the afternoon of Tuesday, 18th June, on the clockwise carriageway near the junction for Heathrow Airport. According to a witness account given to Surrey Police, a dark-coloured Audi and a white VW Transporter van were involved in the initial altercation.
The situation escalated dramatically when both vehicles pulled over onto the hard shoulder. It was there that the driver of the Audi allegedly approached the family's van and issued the bone-chilling threat. A spokesperson for Surrey Police confirmed the driver "threatened to throw a child out of the van" during the heated exchange.
Police Hunt for Suspect Driver
Authorities have launched a full investigation to track down the aggressive motorist. The suspect is described as a man with short brown hair, who was wearing a blue t-shirt and driving what is believed to be a dark Audi A5 or S5.
Investigating officer, PC James Symonds, condemned the actions, stating: "This was a shocking incident that must have been incredibly frightening for the children and adults in the van. The threat made is not something we ever want to hear on our roads."
A Call for Witnesses
Surrey Police are urgently appealing to the public for information. They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was travelling on the M25 clockwise between junctions 13 and 14 around 3:15 pm that Tuesday and may have witnessed the event.
This horrifying incident serves as a severe reminder of how quickly road rage can escalate into life-threatening situations. The investigation continues as officers work to identify and apprehend the suspect.
