Hero Cop Runs Into Burning Building to Save Family

A courageous police officer in Tennessee risked his life to save a mother and her two children from a burning home. Bodycam footage released by the Chattanooga Police Department captures Officer Rogers sprinting into the flames and carrying a young girl to safety.

Dramatic Rescue Captured on Camera

The incident occurred earlier this month in Hixson, Tennessee. Officer Rogers arrived at the scene to find flames pouring from the front of a two-storey property. Without hesitation, he kicked down the door and entered the smoke-filled building. Despite having no formal fire training, he located and rescued four-year-old Marlowe Blaylock, carrying her out of the burning structure. Meanwhile, her mother Rachel Blaylock escaped with her ten-year-old son Charles.

Officer's Bravery Praised

The Chattanooga Police Department released a statement praising Officer Rogers's actions. 'Police are not trained in firefighting, but they do take an oath to serve and protect. That is exactly what Officer Rogers did when he was first on the scene,' the statement read. 'After neighbours informed Officer Rogers that people were still inside, he immediately jumped into action rescuing two children and their mother. Luckily no injuries were reported.'
