Armed police were called to St Peter's High School in Tuffley, Gloucester, on Friday morning after a male was seen with a 'long-bladed item' and a boy was injured nearby. The incident occurred on Chalford Road, with officers arriving just before 9am.
Boy injured and taken to hospital
Gloucestershire Police said one boy sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment. No other injuries have been reported, the force said. The suspects fled the scene, and police are searching the area for those involved.
Pupils safe within school grounds
The force said: "It is understood that there is currently no ongoing threat at the school and pupils are safe within the school grounds, and therefore parents are asked not to attend the premises at this time. We will provide more information once in a position to do so."
Parents have been asked not to attend the premises while the police operation continues, and further updates are expected from the force.
