A young girl has been identified as the sole survivor after an Israeli airstrike killed five members of her family in Gaza early Thursday. The pre-dawn attack was one of several that killed at least nine Palestinians and wounded 15 others, according to Gaza medics.
Details of the Attack
The strikes targeted residential apartments, leaving buildings severely damaged with burnt furniture and scattered debris. The Israeli military has not yet commented on these specific assaults.
Ceasefire Failures
The attacks occurred despite a ceasefire brokered by a US President, which has failed to halt Israeli operations. Since the truce began, 930 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes, according to Gaza health officials. Israel's military reports four Israeli soldiers killed by militants in the same period.
Overall casualties in Gaza since the war started in October 2023 exceed 72,000. Israel now controls more than half of the enclave.
