Freddy Brazier, the 21-year-old son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody and This Morning presenter Jeff Brazier, was rushed to hospital last week after being mauled by his pet pocket bully, Pablo. The dog is now in police custody, and Freddy was given seven days—ending Tuesday—to find a suitable home, or the dog will be put down.
Ex-Girlfriend Speaks Out on Instagram
Freddy recently split from Holly Swinburn, with whom he has a four-month-old daughter, Isla Jade. Swinburn took to Instagram to defend the dog, claiming it had been mistreated. She wrote: “This is Pablo. I had to give him to someone as I was struggling with a baby and a dog, he has been mistreated there and attacked them to protect himself.” She added: “He’s the nicest dog and this is totally out of character for him. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. Please if anyone has a good home for Pablo message me! I don’t want to see him being put down and I can’t look after him and a baby by myself.”
Freddy Details Injuries
Freddy initially sought treatment at St Thomas' Hospital but left after a long wait and went to the Royal London Hospital the next day. Speaking publicly for the first time, he said: “He hooked on to my arm. The dog was hanging off me.” He described a 3cm hole in his arm and said he could not feel anything in his right arm. “It was terrifying. He was just a completely different dog. Honestly, when I picked him up from my nan’s and got him out of the room, I was scared.”
Police Involvement and Previous Attack
Police took Pablo and informed Freddy via a written letter that the dog would be put down if a suitable home was not found within a week. Just days before the attack, neighbours called police after Freddy's nan, Jackiey Budden, was also attacked by Pablo. A neighbour heard screams as the pocket bully gripped her with its teeth. London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police attended, but no criminal charges were brought.
Freddy said he has been unable to bend his arm and described the experience as “extremely painful.” He still wants his dog back but knows it is unlikely. A source said Freddy “absolutely adores Pablo” and that the dog is a huge part of his family. Pocket bullies are identical to XL bullies but are exempt from the 2024 ban because they are shorter.
