A frantic search has been launched in an effort to trace a hiker who vanished three days ago.
Missing Person: Joan Roberts
Joan Roberts was last seen in the area of Glengarnock Train Station in North Ayrshire, around 7.10am on Saturday, June 13. The 57-year-old intended to get the train to Corrour Train Station and walk to Fort William.
Police describe her as being around 5ft 1in tall with short brown hair. When she was last seen Joan was wearing a black fleece jacket, a green rucksack with a green waterproof cover, walking trousers and blue walking boots.
She was also carrying a green tent and two walking poles, one black and the other blue. The experienced walker hasn't been in touch with loved ones since, which is out of character.
Police Appeal
Officers urge anyone with any information on her whereabouts to contact them. Sergeant Meehan said: “Joan is an experienced walker but it is out of character for her not to be in touch with family and as time passes concerns are growing.
“I would ask anyone who has seen Joan or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us.
“If you believe you have seen Joan or someone matching her description please get in touch.
