Four teenagers have been arrested after a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach outside a McDonald's restaurant in Leeds city centre. Emergency services were dispatched to Briggate at 9:08 PM on 28 April following reports of an altercation. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a stab wound to his abdomen.
Victim Hospitalised with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
The man was rushed to a local hospital, where medical staff confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police cordoned off the area outside the McDonald's on the corner of Briggate and Boar Lane, as well as a pedestrianised stretch, while forensic teams gathered evidence using cameras.
Suspects Taken into Custody
West Yorkshire Police arrested four teenage boys, aged between 13 and 16, at the scene on suspicion of assault. They have since been released on bail as investigations continue. A police spokesperson stated: "At 9.08pm on 28 April officers were called to Briggate in Leeds to reports of an altercation. A 34 year old man was taken to hospital with a stab injury to his stomach. He is being treated for non life threatening injuries. Four teenage boys aged between 13 and 16 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. They are all currently in custody. Enquiries are ongoing by Leeds CID."
