Far Right YouTuber Stopped by Terror Cops, Man Stabbed

Craig Houston, a 53-year-old far right YouTuber and Restore Britain activist, was stopped by terrorism police at Edinburgh Airport on Friday. Officers seized his phone and computer as they investigate potential connections with groups linked to terrorist activity in Scotland and the UK. Houston, who had been on holiday in Greece, was not arrested or charged, but the powers used were related to suspected terrorism offences. His online channel recently broadcast videos depicting anti-immigration hatred and fascist-style gatherings in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Dahlia-Rose's DNA Found on Hairdryer

In a separate case, the trial of Courtney Gartshore, 28, accused of killing her three-month-old baby Dahlia-Rose with a hairdryer, heard that the child's DNA was found on the appliance. A forensic biologist told the High Court in Aberdeen that samples from the hairdryer nozzle matched Dahlia-Rose's DNA. Gartshore is accused of culpably and recklessly causing the baby to be exposed to heat from a hairdryer in September 2023 while under the influence of alcohol and the Class B drug mephedrone. She denies culpable homicide and other charges.

Man Jailed for One-Punch Killing

Robert Evans Jr, 25, extradited from Scotland to Canada, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for the one-punch killing of restaurant owner Sharif Rahman. The attack occurred in Owen Sound, Ontario, in August 2023, after a dispute over an unpaid bill. Rahman died in hospital a week later. Evans Jr will serve the final seven months of his sentence before being deported to the UK. His father and uncle, also extradited from Scotland, admitted being accessories and were sentenced to time served.

Aberdeen Man Found Dead, Three Arrested

David Prystajko, 44, was found dead at a home in Aberdeen's Marquis Road area on November 22, 2025. Police arrested three people: two men aged 27 and 32, and a 43-year-old woman. They are expected to appear in court on July 13. Prystajko's family described him as a "deeply loved father, son and brother."

Man Stabbed in Paisley

A 29-year-old man was hospitalised after an alleged stabbing in Paisley on Saturday morning. Emergency services responded to Brediland Road at around 10:20 am. The man was taken to hospital; his injuries are not known. No arrests have been made. Police taped off a Londis convenience store as they investigate.
