Anya Taylor-Joy Targeted in Terrifying London Mansion Burglary

Hollywood actress Anya Taylor-Joy was the victim of a terrifying burglary at a north London mansion in February last year, it can now be reported. The 28-year-old star was staying at the property with her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, and his bandmate Kane Richotte when masked intruders smashed glass to force entry.

The burglars allegedly attempted to gain access to Taylor-Joy and McRae's bedroom while they were inside. The couple and Richotte were shaken but unharmed. The property belonged to a well-known individual whose identity remains protected for legal reasons.

The prime suspect, Kirk Holdrick, 42, from Essex, has pleaded not guilty to burglary. He is currently held at Gartree Prison in Leicestershire, with his trial scheduled for September next year at Wood Green Crown Court. Holdrick was previously linked to TOWIE star Hannah Voyan in 2022.

News of the break-in can be reported for the first time after The Standard won a nine-month legal battle to lift reporting restrictions. Judge Kalyani Kaul KC agreed on Monday to allow the victims' names to be published.

Taylor-Joy, known for roles in The Queen's Gambit, Peaky Blinders, and Furiosa, bravely attended the Baftas just a week after the ordeal. She married McRae in New Orleans in 2022, with a second wedding in Venice in October 2023.
