Family's Horror as Intruder Smashes Through Bedroom Wall

A Merseyside family's world was shattered in the dead of night when a terrifying crash ripped through their home, sending bricks and debris flying into their teenage son's bedroom.

The alleged attacker, 20-year-old Kieran O'Brien, is accused of deliberately driving a vehicle into the property on Thatto Heath Road, St Helens, in what the victim's father describes as a deliberate and targeted act.

"It was like something from a horror film," the shaken father told the Mirror. "My son was in his room when this almighty bang happened. The wall just exploded. Bricks and plaster went everywhere. He's incredibly lucky not to have been seriously injured or killed."

The incident, which occurred in the early hours, left the 18-year-old son traumatised and the family's home structurally damaged. Emergency services rushed to the scene following the shocking collision.

A Family Living in Fear

The father expressed his family's ongoing fear and frustration, stating they no longer feel safe in their own home. "We're living in constant anxiety now," he said. "This has completely turned our lives upside down. You don't expect someone to literally drive through your wall."

Merseyside Police have charged Kieran O'Brien with aggravated vehicle taking and driving while disqualified. He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court but did not enter a plea during the brief hearing.

Justice Sought for Nightmare Ordeal

The family is now seeking justice and hoping for stricter consequences for the alleged perpetrator. "This wasn't an accident," the father emphasised. "This was a deliberate act that could have had fatal consequences. We just want to feel safe again and see proper justice served."

The case has been adjourned until next month, leaving the family to repair both their home and their sense of security after the horrifying invasion.
