Family Tribute to Grandmother Found Dead in Manchester

The family of Yvonne Kemp, a grandmother found dead at her home in Moss Side, Manchester, have paid tribute to a woman "known for her caring heart, strength and kindness."

Police discovered her body on Monday afternoon, October 19, after being called to a "disturbance" at the property on Crondall Street. A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and detained under the Mental Health Act.

Family's Heartfelt Tribute

In a statement released through Greater Manchester Police, her family said: "Yvonne was a much-loved mum, Nana, sister and auntie, known for her caring heart, strength and kindness. She was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, always putting others before herself."

They added: "She leaves behind a family who love her dearly and memories that will be cherished forever. Yvonne will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her."

Police Investigation Underway

Officers sealed off Crondall Street on Monday and Tuesday to continue their investigation. The Manchester Evening News reported that tactical aid unit officers were seen carrying out fingertip searches, with evidence markers placed on the road and a forensic tent erected at the junction with Alison Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "We understand an incident of this nature will cause concern however we would like to reassure the public that we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community."
