Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido emphasized the seriousness of the offense, saying, 'Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment—it is a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk.' The charge of driving under the influence carries a maximum penalty of 93 days in jail, while failure to report an accident is punishable by up to 90 days.
