Drunk Boater Nearly Hits Two Ferries in Washington

A 21-year-old boater narrowly avoided colliding with two ferries after passing out while reportedly intoxicated at the helm of his vessel in Steilacoom, Washington. The incident, captured on footage released by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, shows the boat veering dangerously close to the ferries before crashing into a rock embankment.

Skyler Cantrell, the operator, was ejected from his seat into the water during the collision but managed to climb onto the rocks. West Pierce Fire and Rescue officials responded to the scene and rescued him. According to authorities, alcohol bottles were found scattered on the boat, and a strong smell of intoxicants was detected.

Cantrell was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). His boat was subsequently removed and impounded. The incident highlights the dangers of operating a vessel while impaired, with potential consequences including serious injury or loss of life.
