Doctor's Fury: Mother Bodyslams Pharmacist in Prescription Rage at Boots
Doctor bodyslams pharmacist over prescription delay

A Harley Street doctor has been convicted of a shocking assault after flying into a violent rage over a delayed prescription for her sick child, bodyslamming a Boots pharmacist to the ground in a fit of fury.

The disturbing incident, captured on the pharmacy's CCTV, unfolded when Dr. Shola Shonubi, 41, was told the medication for her one-year-old son was not ready. Instead of waiting, the respected medical professional unleashed a terrifying physical attack on the female employee simply doing her job.

A Mother's Rage Turns Criminal

Prosecutor Luke Staton detailed the event to Wimbledon Magistrates' Court, describing how Dr. Shonubi's anger quickly escalated from verbal abuse to physical violence. After being informed of the delay, she began shouting and swearing, creating a hostile environment for staff and customers alike.

The situation deteriorated rapidly when the doctor vaulted over the counter and launched herself at the pharmacist. In a move more suited to a wrestling ring than a healthcare setting, she grabbed the woman in a headlock and threw her to the floor in a brutal bodyslam attack.

The Chilling CCTV Evidence

The court viewed footage that left no doubt about the severity of the assault. The video showed Dr. Shonubi, a professional entrusted with caring for others, using significant force against a healthcare worker. The pharmacist was left understandably shaken and suffering from physical pain following the unexpected violence.

Despite her privileged position as a medical doctor who presumably understands the pressures facing healthcare workers, Dr. Shonubi showed no restraint or professional courtesy during the incident.

A Troubled Defence

In her defence, Dr. Shonubi claimed the pharmacist had been 'racist and condescending' – allegations the court heard were completely unsupported by the CCTV evidence. The footage showed no behaviour that would justify such a violent response.

District Judge John McGarva saw through the attempted justification, noting the doctor had 'lost her temper spectacularly' and describing the assault as involving 'significant force.' Her claims of racism appeared to be nothing more than a desperate attempt to excuse inexcusable behaviour.

The Fallout and Sentence

Dr. Shonubi's moment of rage has had lasting consequences. She was found guilty of assault by beating and handed a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work. She must also pay £2000 in court costs, and the judge imposed a restraining order to protect her victim from further contact.

The case raises serious questions about the pressures within the healthcare system and the shocking behaviour of a medical professional who should have known better. That a doctor would attack a fellow healthcare worker over a prescription delay represents a profound betrayal of medical ethics and common decency.
