A massive police operation is underway in Sydney's south after a two-year-old boy vanished from a childcare centre in Bangor on Tuesday afternoon, sparking frantic searches and community concern.
Elijah Yohan was last seen at the facility on Booralie Road around 3:30 PM. Authorities were alerted shortly after his disappearance was discovered, triggering an immediate and large-scale response from New South Wales Police.
Emergency services, including PolAir and specialist police units, have been deployed to scour the surrounding bushland and residential areas. Officers are conducting door-to-door inquiries while volunteers join the desperate hunt for the young child.
Elijah is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue long-sleeved top, dark blue pants, and black shoes.
Local residents have been urged to check their properties, including backyards, sheds, and vehicles, as the search intensifies in the race against time.
A police spokesperson stated: "We hold grave concerns for Elijah's welfare given his young age and the time that has passed since his disappearance. We are appealing for anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward immediately."
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many residents joining the search efforts as darkness falls over the area.
