Dad's Heroic Rescue: Pulls Daughter from Burning Car After Horrific Crash
Dad rescues daughter from burning car after M40 crash

A father's worst nightmare turned into a heroic act of bravery when he pulled his young daughter from a burning car following a horrific crash on the M40.

The Moment Every Parent Dreads

Jason Bennett, 34, was driving with his 4-year-old daughter Lillie when their vehicle was involved in a multi-car collision near High Wycombe. The impact sent their car spinning across the motorway before it burst into flames.

"I heard Lillie crying from the back seat," Bennett recalled, "and I knew I had to get her out immediately."

Against All Odds

Despite suffering serious injuries himself, Bennett managed to:

  • Unbuckle his daughter's car seat
  • Smash through the damaged door
  • Carry Lillie to safety moments before the vehicle was engulfed

Emergency services arrived shortly after to find both father and daughter receiving first aid from other motorists. They were rushed to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with Bennett suffering from burns and broken ribs.

Miracle Survival

Miraculously, young Lillie escaped with only minor cuts and bruises. Doctors credit her father's quick actions for saving her life.

"The car was completely destroyed by the fire," said Thames Valley Police spokesperson Mark Henderson. "It's nothing short of miraculous that they both survived."

The crash caused major delays on the M40 southbound for several hours while investigators examined the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
