Child Killer Paul Mosley Dies In Derby Prison Fire

Paul Mosley, who was convicted of killing six children in a deliberate house fire in Derby in 2012, has died in a fire at HMP Derby. The prison service confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

Mosley was jailed alongside Mick and Mairead Philpott for the manslaughter of six children. The fire at the Philpotts' home in Victory Road killed Jade, 10, and brothers John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five, on 11 May 2012.

Mosley was sentenced to 17 years in prison and was released on licence in May 2021 after serving half of his sentence. However, he was returned to prison in 2022 after breaching the terms of his parole. A Parole Board panel had recently directed his release, but he remained in custody at the time of the fire.
