Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged showing a convicted rapist methodically stalking the streets of Westminster in what police describe as a "hunt for victims" just hours before he committed a brutal sexual assault.
The video captures Mohammed Ali Nasser, 33, walking through central London with what appears to be deliberate purpose, his movements captured on multiple cameras as he navigated the area near his hostel accommodation.
The Predator's Movements
Investigators have pieced together Nasser's movements in the early hours of that fateful morning, revealing a pattern of behaviour that suggests he was actively searching for vulnerable targets. The footage shows him:
- Pacing repeatedly through the same streets
- Scanning his surroundings with apparent intent
- Changing direction multiple times as if following potential victims
- Operating during hours when few people were around
A Violent Attack
Just hours after the CCTV was recorded, Nasser followed a woman to her home in a nearby Westminster square where he subjected her to a terrifying ordeal. The attack only ended when the brave victim managed to fight back against her assailant, screaming loudly enough to alert neighbours.
Detective Inspector James Shirley from the Metropolitan Police described the footage as "deeply concerning," stating: "This shows the calculated behaviour of a sexual predator. He was quite clearly hunting for a victim that night."
Ongoing Investigation
Police have now released the footage as part of an investigation into whether Nasser may have committed other offences. Officers are particularly interested in his movements between midnight and 4am on the night of the attack.
Nasser was previously convicted at Southwark Crown Court and is currently serving a prison sentence for the Westminster attack. However, detectives believe there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.
The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone who recognises Nasser or who may have encountered him in the Westminster area during late night hours to contact them immediately.
