CCTV Shows Last Movements of Missing Essex Academic Vitoria Barreto

Police have released CCTV footage showing the final movements of Vitoria Barreto, a 30-year-old academic from Brazil who has been missing for four weeks. She was last seen on March 3 after meeting a friend at the University of Essex in Colchester.

The footage shows Ms Barreto boarding the number 87 bus from Wivenhoe to Brightlingsea on the afternoon of March 3. She got off the bus in Bellfield Avenue at 1.30pm and was later seen on CCTV in Hurst Green at 2.30pm. Police believe a person walking across a field south of Hurst Green between Back Waterside Lane and Mill Street at 3.33pm is her.

Earlier, the last known sighting was at 12.16am on March 4 in a boatyard off Copperas Road, but new footage shows Ms Barreto walking through an industrial site on the south side of Copperas Road, closer to Brightlingsea Creek and the marina, at 12.22am on March 4.
