Northumbria Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace after a victim was punched in the face and racially abused outside a Greggs store in Newcastle city centre.
Incident details
Shortly after 2.30am on Wednesday, June 24, officers received a report of a disturbance outside the bakery chain on Grainger Street. A small group of men were refused entry to the premises, and after a verbal altercation, the victim — a man in his 40s — was punched in the face and racially abused. He did not require hospital treatment.
Investigation and appeal
Following a review of CCTV footage, officers have released an image of a man believed to have been in the area at the time. He may have information that could assist the investigation. The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police via social media direct message, live chat, or the report form on the Force's website.
